Our society does not do a good job of preparing us to face death – our own or that of someone we love. Though we may visit the darkest corners of our minds, often our family and friends don’t know how to help or what to say. We need safe, meaningful ways to express our emotions and we need to honour our loved ones in a manner that reflects a fullness of being. We need real words that touch our hearts and true to life memorials, funerals, and end of life aka celebration of life services.
When memorials and celebrations of life are informed by the story of a life lived, it becomes a powerful and motivating force. It holds the power to ground and help you begin to embrace the future. Though your loss is profound, you will blossom again. Ceremony represents the path to get there.
We have all been to a service where it seemed the officiant used a template and filled in the blanks with your friend’s name. Contrast that to a funeral, memorial, or end of life celebration where family and friends experienced a sense of closeness, and were drawn together in a collective moment.

I craft Memorial, Funeral, and Celebration of Life services that are vibrant, meaningful, and illuminating. My purpose is to create an atmosphere of profound connection where family and friends bond with each other, share stories and memories, laugh through their tears, and help each other find the courage to live in a world without their loved one.
No two of my memorial or celebration of life ceremonies are ever the same. I work from personal interviews, research, and in collaboration with you to create something unique and heartfelt. Years of experience have taught me how to create a supportive environment for you to gather memories of your loved one to tell the history of his or her life. Together we make decisions on what music, poetry, and readings to include and you will review the ceremony beforehand including the eulogy so you can edit and check for accuracy.
You will find me a wealth of knowledge on the funeral and memorial customs of many cultures as this is an area of personal interest to me. I have also made it a point to learn as much as I can about ‘Green Burials’. I can advise and guide you to make the decisions that feel right to you and your family.
If want to hold a service to celebrate a life, I welcome your call at 604-992-4217. Ash scattering, burial, and anniversary ceremonies begin at $450. A custom written Celebration of Life with a stunning eulogy that will be talked about for years to come is $1,400 plus GST.
